The Futuristic Prison¹: QUEENS BUILDING
The sheer horror of the architecture stopped me from being able to point my camera directly at it, so I'll show you to a BBC website that managed to get that dangerous shot.

This is the 'Queens Building' and sits right next to the Fletcher Tower where we work, which is a little to the right of that photo. Basically I'm not sure who or why designed it, some say he was at Cambridge and got kicked out, others day it was a toddler who drew over the architect's plans. Others still suggest that there were no plans, and that one day it just appeared through a rift in space and time.
Whatever happened, let's take a look inside...
First floor walkway, note the seats that hang over the edge. They're not too comfy either.Now the thing is, it's difficult to really describe what it's like. Jack the Architecture expert in our art classes called it an "architectural nightmare" and said that if you didn't have photos of it, nobody'd believe it was real. But it's real.
Looking up, more walkways above. Note the shadowy governmental figures in the window.I think the interior speaks for itself, but there's a lot more to it than this big room. For example on the third floor we found a hole that dropped all the way down to the ground, and it was just in the middle of the ground. Who knows what nightmarish things went on in here.
When it closes at night, the doors slam shut in the blink of an eye, trapping anybody inside. The lights turn off, and the picture of the Queen in the second photo starts laughing at you. On the wall there's a poster that says "If locked in after hours, phone security", but if you do this, all you hear is someone laughing down the line at you. Or gibberish like that bit in Max Payne.
We think it's like Hogwarts, where all the gantries and walkways move around, sometimes for no reason.
Also if you go outside and around the side, there's another shocker.
Myself and Abs discovered that once, a large garden shed was built outside the Queens building. Unfortunately it was in the wrong place, so they decided to move it between Queens and the adjacent library through a small alleyway. Sideways. It became stuck.

haha omfg this blog made me laugh quite a bit. good work Mr Kitto!
And i think we should make a doumentery of a group of students locked in the Queens building. We could make it a 'blair witch' style video of us taking a look through this mystic 'prison'
